Everyone knows that a barking dog is disruptive and annoying for both the owner and the neighbours. If you are an owner, and you feel like you've tried everything to get it to stop, but nothing works, then I urge you to try this collar.

Now, if you are anything like me, you will be skeptical about it. I had heard about these collars a long time ago, but I had never invested in one simply because they were outrageously expensive, and I wasn't too keen on buying something that would hurt my dog, so, I put up with the barking.

After some time, I'd had enough. I came here and decided that I should at least give the idea a try. I found this collar (because it was one of the cheaper ones, and I do love cheap things. :P), and bought it. Despite it being over a hundred dollars, it was what I had expected to be paying, and at that point, I was desperate.

It came to my door fairly quickly, and I opened it, read the instructions, and put it on my dog. The collar works by having the battery sitting snug on your dog's throat, and when they bark, the collar then reads the vibrations in the dog's throat to determine what kind of shock strength is needed to neutralize the barking. But in order for it to work properly, you constantly need to make sure that the collar is snug, but not constricting, and in the right position, because the weight of the battery does loosen the collar a little bit.

Finding the right tightness and positioning does take some trial and error, but once you have it worked out, the collar does and excellent job. Before I bought the collar, my dog would bark at anything and everything, and she would continue to bark until one of my family members went to her and removed what she was barking at. (This happened at any hour) Now, she's lucky to get two barks out. She no longer barks in the middle of the night, and the house is finally peaceful.

As I have stated, this collar uses electric shocks, but the collar has stated that the collar is not cruel to your dog, and that it is not harmful in any way.

All-in-all, I am very happy that I finally got over the stigma with these collars and purchased one. It was the best decision I have ever made, and I don't regret it at all. If you have a dog that likes to bark, then I highly recommend this collar. The good news is, it also works for growling.

It is a very good collar once you figure out how tight the collar should be for your dog. (They recommend that you re-check the tightness every week, but we do it every night because our dog is young and energetic.)

no more annoying problem barking at the neighbours dogs and fences from my German Shepherd, she can still give a warning to threats but isnt a problem anymore. Thanks for the good service aswell :) (Posted on 26/07/10)
