Details

The PetSafe Bark Control Collar TM effectively and humanely stops barking when it is worn. When the vibration of your dog’s bark triggers the Sensor Probe, a Static Correction is administered through the Contact Points.

The Bark Control Collar starts with the lowest level of Static Correction and then increases through 6 levels each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the previous bark. If your dog does not bark again within 30 seconds, the Bark Control Collar will reset itself to the lowest level of Static Correction.

Along with each Static Correction, there will be an audible beep. As an added safety feature, the Bark Control Collar will automatically shut off for 3 minutes if your dog barks 15 times or more within a 50-second period.

The Petsafe PBC-102 Bark Control Collar uses a replaceable battery and is activated by vibration. With 6 automatic levels of stimulus it suits most dogs.

It is supplied in a protective overmould to prevent inadvertent operation from vibrations from non barking sources.

The Bark Control Collar is designed to get your dog’s attention, not to punish him. However, the initial Static Correction may startle your dog. well i purchased one collar about 2 months ago and i put it on my maltese cross worked a treat, then i got a minie foxie who decided he would take over the roll of the barking dog so i put it on him and it worked wondersw we went to qld for 3 weeks after christmas and took him and the collar with us he was a different dog .We came home and some how the collar got lost in the house [dont ask how]so i could not shut him up bought another and bliss again have had a dog for 50 years so good (Posted on 6/02/12)

We have a 18 month old Beagle who really loves the sound of his own voice and howls like no tomorrow.. It was getting to a stage where we were going to find him a new home as the neighbours were getting a bit annoyed. I have had this bark collar 2 days and put it on Angus for about 1 hour he yelped once and then has not barked since.. I only put the collar on him once he starts barking but so far today I haven't heard a peep out of him. Highly recommended product, great price and great customer service. Thanks very much! This collar has changed our lives (and probably our neighbours too!) in a matter of days. We had put up with our dog's nuisance barking for far too long and had to resort to keeping him inside most of the time to avoid a potential complaint to council. I purchased one to be worn by one of my two dogs who'd got in the habit of barking incessantly. Initially after I received the collar, I hesitated for a week wondering if it would hurt him in any way. Finally I gave in and not only do I think it a fantastic product, I went out and bought another one for my other dog. Why did I not try this seven years ago. We now have a peaceful house, can have people come over without them getting constantly barked at, the dog has switched behaviour from the she devil to a quiet affectionate dog with strangers. I feel sorry for her when she gets sapped, but as they say no pain no gain. I would highly recommend this product, it is cheaper to buy from Ace Dog Supplies than to hire it.

I have 2 Jack Russells one never barks and the other one barks all the time at any noise eg:birds, drilling, vacuuming, postie anything. If he wears the collar its like I have a new dog and he's wonderful.
When I take the collar off he is ok for a day but then it has to go back on for a day.
I would recommend this collar over any of the citronella collars because they never stopped him at all. He would just bark till the citronella ran out. (Posted on 26/08/11)

Tried collar of my sons larger dogs once - first bark my little thing leapt in the air and yelped, I burst into tears. I had his on too high a setting. Got my one a week ago - initially didnt have it as tight as it should have been and though it made a big difference he still did bark a little bit. Adjusted it today and now seem to have it right as he has done little yelps after he has barked a couple of times. Generally only put it on him in the afternoon for a few hours as that was when his barking was big time bad. He thought he owned the street and anyone going by set him off. Felt bad resorting to this but his barking was a problem. Did find it hard adjusting to fit him as although he is about 6kg he has a scrawny little neck. (Posted on 6/08/11)

I have three large dogs and only one was a barker but bad habbits catch on very quickly and all three were beginning to become a problem I found the collars effective and ddt change there barking habbits even when not on. I did find however that the collars on all three dogs move around from the original placed position no matter how tight we have them the instructions say a space of two fingerr, I have to fit ours very tight to keep them in place - happy with the results but don't like them being so tight - I feel bad enough that I have had to resort to the collars but the tightness is an issue (Posted on 29/05/11)

Unfortunately the product was packaged with a drained battery which meant it had no effect on reducing barking. Fortunately I had another collar (previous model) to use as a test against the new one. Once a new battery was purchased for the PBC-102 it did work in reducing barking, although not as effectively as the earlier model. The earlier model has a slightly different design with longer static stimulation probes than the present model. (Posted on 1/12/10)

I have found this collar to do exactly what it promises. The fitting instructions were easy to follow although we do find that our little princess can move the collar off the desired spot by rubbing her neck roughly on the concrete, even when tightly fitted. It does usually moves back into position so this has not been a big issue. It has eliminated most of her excessive barking - at the old lady over the back fence, the mailman and other dogs passing by. It has not stopped her barking at the possum which uses our neighbour's shed roof as a thoroughfare every evening She still barks at it although at a lower volume and doesn't continue for as long as she did before we fitted the collar. Bought this product in February and it worked like magic. One bark, and my dog would stop.

Unfortunately, the sensitivity of the collar has dissipated over time. It will trigger, but only if my dog makes a very loud, deep bark.

I have tested the collar myself from time to time. It would trigger easily if rubbed on a rough surface. Unfortunately, a more rigorous rubbing is now required.

Everyone knows that a barking dog is disruptive and annoying for both the owner and the neighbours. If you are an owner, and you feel like you've tried everything to get it to stop, but nothing works, then I urge you to try this collar.

Now, if you are anything like me, you will be skeptical about it. I had heard about these collars a long time ago, but I had never invested in one simply because they were outrageously expensive, and I wasn't too keen on buying something that would hurt my dog, so, I put up with the barking.

After some time, I'd had enough. I came here and decided that I should at least give the idea a try. I found this collar (because it was one of the cheaper ones, and I do love cheap things. :P), and bought it. Despite it being over a hundred dollars, it was what I had expected to be paying, and at that point, I was desperate.

It came to my door fairly quickly, and I opened it, read the instructions, and put it on my dog. The collar works by having the battery sitting snug on your dog's throat, and when they bark, the collar then reads the vibrations in the dog's throat to determine what kind of shock strength is needed to neutralize the barking. But in order for it to work properly, you constantly need to make sure that the collar is snug, but not constricting, and in the right position, because the weight of the battery does loosen the collar a little bit.

Finding the right tightness and positioning does take some trial and error, but once you have it worked out, the collar does and excellent job. Before I bought the collar, my dog would bark at anything and everything, and she would continue to bark until one of my family members went to her and removed what she was barking at. (This happened at any hour) Now, she's lucky to get two barks out. She no longer barks in the middle of the night, and the house is finally peaceful.

As I have stated, this collar uses electric shocks, but the collar has stated that the collar is not cruel to your dog, and that it is not harmful in any way.

All-in-all, I am very happy that I finally got over the stigma with these collars and purchased one. It was the best decision I have ever made, and I don't regret it at all. If you have a dog that likes to bark, then I highly recommend this collar. The good news is, it also works for growling.

It is a very good collar once you figure out how tight the collar should be for your dog. (They recommend that you re-check the tightness every week, but we do it every night because our dog is young and energetic.)
